By revenue, Bollywood is the largest film producer in India, representing 43% of the net box office. Bollywood is also one of the largest centers of film production in the world. Furthermore, Bollywood is one of the biggest film industries in the world in terms of the number of people employed and the number of films produced. Bollywood produced 252 films in 2014 out of a total of 1969 films produced in Indian cinema.

1. Maximum no. of British Actors:

Aamir Khan’s ‘Lagaan’ had the maximum number of British actors ever to be cast in a single movie in the history of Bollywood cinema.

2. Maximum no. of Dresses:

In the film ‘Heroine,’ Kareena Kapoor wore over 130 different dresses by top fashion designers from all over the world.

It has been reported that Kareena’s wardrobe for the film was one of the most expensive out of all the Bollywood movies ever created!

3. Double Intervals:

Raj Kapoor’s ‘Mera Naam Joker’ was the first Hindi movie to have not one but two intervals!

4. Maximum no. of Awards:

‘Kaho Naa.. Pyar Hai’ was added to the Guinness Book of World Records 2002 edition for winning the most number of awards for a movie. The movie won a total of 92 awards!

5. Movie Tickets In Billions:

Indians buy 2.7 billion movie tickets annually, the highest in the world. But our average ticket price is among the lowest in the world, so revenues are a fraction compared to Hollywood!

6. Longest Film In The World:

‘LOC: Kargil’ is 4 hours and 25 minutes Longest film in the world.

7. First 100 Crore Club:

Ghajini was the first film to cross 100 crores at the Indian box office.

8. Baazigar Role Offer:

For Bazigar, Salman, Akshay Kumar, and Anil Kapoor were the offered. They refused to play negative role. Later SRK took the role.

9. Secret Behind PK’s Red Tongue:

PK had a paanwala on set all day, every day. Aamir Khan had to eat upto 10-15 betel leaves to get the right colour around his lips.

Dabanng 2 was the first sequel for Salman Khan in his 23 year career!

11. Bollywood Increases Tourism:

After ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ was released, there was a 32% increase in Indians visiting Spain
